It was sad to hear of the death of Tony Nicklinson, who was waging a legal battle to be allowed assistance to end his life, something he was unable to achieve himself, and who lost his case in the High Court last week. His death means that his case – due to go before the Court of Appeal – will now fall unless another person in similar circumstances can be found to take it forward. The British Humanist Association and others are working with the lawyers to find a potential new claimant – if you are such a person or know one, please do email pavan@humanism.org.uk
In the meantime, here is the story from BBC News earlier today (I am interviewed from about 2.47)
