# LBC Radio: call for an urgent inquiry into assisted dying

Today I was live on LBC discussing the UK’s inhumane blanket ban on assisted dying and the urgent need for an inquiry.

My appearance followed the news of [Dr Henry Marsh](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56597771) – humanist and acclaimed neurosurgeon – who has revealed that he has advanced prostate cancer and may not have long to live. Prompted by his diagnosis, Henry has called upon parliamentarians to conduct an urgent review of the UK’s assisted dying laws.
