# GB News: discussing a new assisted dying bill in Scotland

This weekend I was on GB News’ *Sunday Night Live* programme to debate assisted dying with Care for Scotland’s Dr Gordon McDonald. The interview was first prompted by the sad loss of [Paul Lamb](https://humanism.org.uk/2021/06/18/humanists-uk-mourns-right-to-die-campaigner-paul-lamb-who-took-his-case-to-the-supreme-court/?desktop=1) but the debate was widened to include discussion of a [new assisted dying bill](https://humanism.org.uk/2021/06/21/103837/) introduced to the Scottish Parliament by Scottish Liberal Democrat MSP, Liam McArthur.
