Today is #DarwinDay – a time to celebrate the enduring legacy of Charles Darwin and his profound impact on our understanding of the natural world.

I was honoured to open this year’s Darwin Day Lecture, hosted by Humanists UK, continuing a long tradition of marking this occasion with inspiring discussions on science, reason, and human progress. Darwin’s insights remain as powerful today as ever — reminding us of the beauty of evolution, the power of evidence, and the importance of curiosity in shaping our world.
